KONY 2012 is a film and campaign by Invisible Children that aims to make Joseph Kony famous, not to celebrate him, but to raise support for his arrest and set a precedent for international justice.

EDIT: After reading A LOT about KONY 2012 I think everybody should stop sharing this documentary, because no one knows where the money goes…Invisible Children is not a reliable organization you should donate money to. They want to send more US troops to Uganda and they support Uganda’s army with weapons.

Don’t get me wrong, I think it’s a good thing that a lot of people now knows about Kony, but after watching this you should do your own research about Uganda, Uganda’s dictator Museveni, LRA, Joseph Kony, Invisible Children…because the situation in Uganda is more complex than a 30-minute documentary can show you, it’s been going on for 25 years.

All this sharing and twittering about “KONY 2012″ made me scared about our society. Just because this documentary is well produced everybody (me included) just started to share it without even consider the credibility of the source. Do your research, and look up organizations you want to support. There’s a lot of good ones out there: Amnesty, Läkare utan gränser, Save The Children and a lot more.

What I’ve learned; Don’t believe the hype! Do your research!
